About this festival
The 5Point Film Festival is Colorado’s marquee adventure-film gathering, held each April in Carbondale since 2008 and named for its five guiding principles: respect, commitment, humility, purpose, and balance. Its core films tell stories set against biking, skiing, surfing, kayaking, climbing, and other adventure sports — but the festival prizes the human element and the story over spectacle, screening dozens of films and hosting filmmakers, athletes, and film subjects from around the world. The Flagship Festival pairs its programs with live podcast recordings, panels, spoken-word and dance performances, book signings, family activities, and live art demonstrations, and after Carbondale, 5Point takes its best films on a national “On the Road” tour. The festival also runs grant programs supporting emerging adventure filmmakers.
