The Sundance Film Festival will run Jan. 21–31, 2027, in Boulder — the first edition of the festival held outside Utah in its 40-plus-year history — and organizers have now confirmed the official venue list for the 10-day event.
The dates and venues were announced Feb. 24 by the nonprofit Sundance Institute, which has been working with Boulder partners since the host-city decision was finalized in March 2025.
“Working closely with the Colorado community, the 2027 Sundance Film Festival is already in our sights as we build towards an exciting debut in Boulder where our programming will meet audiences next January,” Eugene Hernandez, director of the Sundance Film Festival and public programming, said in the announcement. “Nestled at the base of Colorado’s iconic Flatirons, venues across the city and CU Boulder’s campus provide an ideal setting for festivalgoers from across the world to come together, revel in art, spark conversation, and create unforgettable memories.”
The festival’s footprint will stretch across downtown Boulder and the University of Colorado Boulder campus, mixing established cinemas with university auditoriums, school theaters, and music halls.
