A 238-seat 1913 opera house in downtown Telluride, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and operated by the nonprofit Sheridan Arts Foundation. The Sheridan has been the flagship venue of the Telluride Film Festival since the festival’s inaugural year in 1974, hosting screenings and the Silver Medallion award presentations each Labor Day weekend. The illuminated “SHOW” sign outside is the visual signature on every TFF poster. Year-round programming spans Americana and bluegrass concerts, comedy, community theater, and the Sheridan Arts Foundation’s Young People’s Theater. Festival tickets are sold through TFF, not the Sheridan.
